On November 3rd, the U.S. Embassy in partnership with the Space of Wisdom International Centre for Languages and Professional Training in Tunis held a graduation ceremony for 38 English Access Microscholarship Program students. In his keynote address, the U.S. Ambassador Mr. Donald Blome thanked all those who supported and helped the Access students during the last two years and in particular their teachers, their parents and all those who participated in the success of the Program. He congratulated the students for their hard work and accomplishments over the past two years. For him, the Access Program helps students succeed in their life and in their future academic and professional careers. Additionally, he highlighted the merit of the English Microscholarship Program, which is his favorite because it helps develop not only the students’ English language skills but also develops their leadership skills and civic competences by teaching them how to volunteer in their community and how to become good citizens in a democratic society. His Excellency Mr. Donald Blome stated that Tunisia went through another set of elections which he considered as an impressive development. For him, a successful democracy has good citizens who are educated, active and smart and the new graduates from the English Access program are examples of good citizens and future leaders. »
